Shostakovich: Violin Concertos

Winner of a 2021 Gramophone Award and described by that magazine as ‘the kind of playing that looks you unblinkingly in the eye and tells it like it is’: it could be none other than Alina Ibragimova playing Shostakovich Violin Concertos. She is joined by conductor Vladimir Jurowski and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia ‘Evgeny Svetlanov’. Shostakovich aficionados will welcome an opportunity to hear the rarely performed original opening to the Burlesque of Concerto No 1. A 2LP set.
